Although the week was short, there was plenty of amazing designs hitting the runway at lightning speed. Philly Fashion Week (February 17-20, 2016) is in its 20th season and has highlighted some of the best in up and coming fashion across the globe.
Filled with clothing from the loud and colorful to the all-white and chic, many of the designers delivered in their presentation that fashionistas would love to wear.
JustBeU Magazine sat front row for the finale showing of couture clothing that featured these top four designers that definitely have their finger on the pulse of fashion and are catering to young professional women with an eye for amazing style and are not afraid to live out loud. Tami Williams is the first Caribbean model to be selected by Calvin Klein. The global fashion model has the face of the brand for its collection fall 2015 campaign. No black models has done the collection campaign since supermodel Iman 33 years ago.
The 17-year old now joins such names as Christy Turlington, Kate Moss and most recently Lara Stone which have been made supermodels by the upper prestigious Calvin Klein brand.
Calvin Klein has often been criticized for the lack of diversity use of models of color on its runway but for almost 10 consecutive season Jamaican model has graced the runways for the highly selective brand.
As a fellow Jamaican I am proud to see one of my peers grace the runway and that Calvin Klein start using models of color more regularly. I would love to hear your thoughts on this – please like and comment below.
